Anna Akhmatova 

• For this final project I was going to do my project on the poems from author Anna Akhmatova and use the topic of exploring the relationships between certain elements. The example they gave that I can also use is how does the setting influence character development and the setting plays a huge part in the development of the character throughout all the poems. 
• In the poem I will focus on is Requiem and it is a big poem that consist of separated parts named like Dedication and prologue and etc. Anna was effected by her setting immensely because she lived in Russia during the second world war and experienced many tragedies in her family and even her friends fell victim to the destruction of the country at the time. 
• I will explain how accompanied by some back ground information Anna is the perfect example of her setting influencing her because in the poems she was character in reality. Then I will explain how in an even more deep conclusion that this tragedy was not only happening to her but to women all over her country so it was important for her to explain the character in the poems was just a general sorrowful mother. 
• The whole page is the quotes I will use and then explain how those back up the claim to show how the setting influenced the sorrowful mother in the poems. And for my luck the poem is flooded with examples of this because Anna is such a poet that uses imagery and tone to help readers feel. One great example I will use first is "Mountains bow down to this grief, Mighty rivers cease to flow, But the prison gates hold firm" There are many of these so I am set and juts have to stay focused and used evidence and back it up with clear analysis and plan a success.

Ghalib And Walt Whitman

• In my project I will focus mostly on the genius of Ghalib and Whitman and using the whole essay to compare both of their styles of poetry. 
• I want to look at both authors life briefly in my introduction and then in body paragraphs I was going to direct both authors poetry mostly from my two favorite poems from their section of readings. 
• Compare and contrast elements of two different texts. For example, explore the similarities and differences between two characters in the text  or examine how one theme is handled in similar and dissimilar ways in two different texts.
• The option above is the one I will be using to anwyslis both texts. And I will use the authors style, themes, structure, and just every aspect of how they published their poems. 
• I also want to save some space at the end of my submission to say which author is my personal favorite but from my writing it may be apparent. 
• Other than the poems I won't be using any other outside sources so my works cited will just be the poems from both authors. 
• My thesis will be something like: Both of these poems from Whitman and Ghalib use imagery to draw readers to read further and then use a message of wisdom to make their poems legendary. 
• Or Walt Whitman and Ghalib are two authors who use their poetry to give readers wisdom and beautiful imagery packed into one legendary poem.  
• I will use the poems "Couplets" and " O Captin! My Captain!" mostly with drawing my textual evidence. 
• This week I will focus more on making sure my project is at 1000 word since I will be using poems and they have less you can quote from but I will make sure to use other poems so I can still can have enough evidence.

Project Action Plan

• My project will use the fictional story of Prince Oroonoko The Royal Slave by Aphra Behn the first professional woman writer.
• First I will introduce the background of the story then my topic I will focus on is: Love and freedom as two subjects to focus on. Then I will choose two selections and discuss how that subject is discussed in those selections. Using literary devices to help frame my discussion.
• I will use this as a thesis and use my subject of love to show how the prince was captured in the first place because of the love that he had for Imoinda. He saved his beloved from his corrupt grandfather but in doing this lead him to be tricked into slavery by a selfish english slave trader along with his love.
• Then also introducing the subject of freedom to my writing by showing nobody in that time who was African was too good or too powerful to not be affected by slavery. Also freedom is the bigger subject so it also will help me argue that the prince who was a slave now still was not stripped of his leadership because he end up leading a revolt with his fellow slaves. He wanted to destroy the coopereration the slave owners had at the time over his people.
• Accompanied by me looking at the literary devices the narrator Behn brings up from her chilling story. Also showing that her freedom was limited even though she wasn't a slave she only could narrate his story to help anything else could have gotten her into much more trouble.

My biggest text I will be using to help prove my points are: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aphra_Behn to explain the background in my introduction and also  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oroonoko to help give a clearer explanation of The Prince’s story and use things from the pages in our readings to help back up my thesis. Also using another text from the book of a few poems that will connect to the subjects of freedom mostly and love if I can find one.
